Our Mission

Center for Skills Development is driven by a commitment to cultural awareness, inclusivity, and individualized care. With a deep understanding of how cultural and language differences impact access to quality services, our mission is to ensure no individual is left behind. We specialize in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and bring expertise in working with diverse communities, including those with autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X, ADHD, and ODD. Beyond cultural competence, we prioritize meeting each individual at their own learning pace with empathy, patience, and respect for autonomy.

Our goal is to ensure that every child receiving therapy feels safe, included, and supported.Equally important, we recognize the role of families in the treatment process. Parents and caregivers are active partners in decision-making, choosing what skills are most meaningful for their child and family. To ensure this, we have structured our clinical support teams to keep family involvement at the center of all treatment planning.

Families are included in every decision, and their voices guide the priorities of therapy. By empowering families to shape treatment, we make therapy not only effective but also practical, accessible, and life-enhancing for everyone involved. We are committed to evidence-based, ethical practices that focus on meaningful outcomes. We aim to create not just progress in therapy sessions, but lasting change within the child’s home, school, and community.

Where families lead and children thrive.

My Story

My journey into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has been shaped by both professional and personal experiences. Early on, I saw how language and cultural differences often limited access to quality care, especially in minority communities. This sparked a passion to create change and ensure that no family feels left out or unheard.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children across a range of diagnoses, including autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X, ADHD, and ODD. My experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and designing interventions showed me the value of cultural competence and individualized treatment. But I also witnessed a concerning reality: in many ABA companies, treatment is not approached from an individualized perspective. Too often, parents are not meaningfully involved in decision-making, and many families have little understanding of what is happening in their child’s therapy or what the next steps will be.

This realization fueled my determination to create something different. I founded the Center for Skills Development with the vision of providing ABA services where cultural awareness, family inclusion, and individualized care are at the heart of every decision. Parents are not just informed but are true collaborators who guide what is important for their child to learn. We have structured our clinical support teams to prioritize family involvement, ensuring that families are included in every stage of treatment and empowered to advocate for their child’s needs.

Our team is dedicated to evidence-based, compassionate, and ethical practices that create meaningful progress. We aim to create not just progress in therapy sessions, but lasting change within the child’s home, school, and community.

Through patience, empathy, and a deep respect for each child’s unique journey, the Center for Skills Development is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces for learning. Our work goes beyond therapy. It is about advocacy, belonging, and building stronger communities for the future.

Together, we build skills for life.
